Saturday Scribe Chapter Lead Agreement
We're so excited that you are interested in starting a Saturday Scribe chapter in your city. This is a pilot season as we learn together what it takes to build sustainable, vibrant communities of scribers. Your commitment to cultivating a chapter means more than just hosting gatherings—it means stewarding a BRAVE space where people can show up to the page with openness, courage, and authenticity.
Saturday Scribe is not simply journaling. It is a creative practice, an invitation to put words to the unseen and the unspoken, to dream on paper, and to listen deeply to the voice of hope. We believe that writing is both a spiritual and playful act—an unlock for imagination and a way to reconnect with our inner child.
Inspired by Habakkuk 2:2 — "Write the vision; make it plain…", we gather every Saturday morning to write, to share, and to believe together in the stories yet to be told.

As a pilot chapter lead you are helping us shape the future of Saturday Scribe. This agreement outlines how we'll work together to honor the heart of the community while creating a model that is sustainable and life-giving.
Core Commitments
From Chapter Leads
As a Saturday Scribe pilot chapter lead, you commit to:
Steward a BRAVE, Hope-Filled Space
  • Create and protect an environment where participants feel safe to be vulnerable, playful, and authentic
  • Ensure that gatherings are inclusive and open to all—no one needs to call themselves a "writer" to participate and all forms of writing are welcomed
Host Regular Gatherings
  • Facilitate a free Saturday morning scribe session (10 AM – 12 PM) at least once a month with a weekly reminder in the WhatsApp to scribe from wherever when not in person.
  • Follow the Saturday Scribe Core Rhythm outlined in the facilitator guide received post orientation
Champion the Analogue Spirit
Encourage participants to put away their phones/laptops and write by hand when possible, reconnecting with creativity through pen and paper. Facilitators are expected to lead by this example and offer no judgement if the members preference is to write with devices.
Foster Community
  • Build relationships locally with writers, non-writers, and community spaces
  • Nurture a culture of hope, play, and encouragement
  • Champion vulnerability and expect that there may be tears of joy, anger or grief
  • This space is sacred and it moves people. If it begins to get too heavy, use our tools to reset the balance setting a consistent tone that people want to return to.
  • Encourage facilitation. Anyone who joins the chapter should feel empowered to guide the session if needed (i.e. if lead cannot attend or needs support).
Support our Sustainability
Saturday gatherings will always remain free and open to the public. However, sustaining the quality of this community requires resources. As a facilitator, you commit to:
  • Promoting our Sustainability: At each gathering, gently encourage participants to support Saturday Scribe through our official donation link.
  • Normalizing Contribution: Remind participants that donations are not required, but they help cover tools, materials, and resources
  • Building Anticipation: Share updates about the upcoming Saturday Scribe Membership model
  • Using Provided Materials: HQ will supply branded language, graphics, and QR codes
Communicate
  • Create Events: Create a Luma for each in person meet up and invite Saturday Scribe as co-host
  • Build Community: Join the WhatsApp community and invite members who've signed up via Luma to join the group AFTER they've attended a session in person
  • Submit recaps: Submit a recap (attendance, highlights, photos/stories if available) to HQ after each in person session
  • Join Monthly Calls: Join monthly facilitator gatherings to share learnings and receive support
